Those who do not often follow other nature deities. Most kitsune revere the original fox spirit Iko, who took them in during the apocalypse and granted them refuge. That aside, they are more comfortable in more natural environments, and are often quite rare and scattered as a race. The original great forest where kitsune came from was lost to time, though some long lived kitsune claim to know where it is. The most common alignment among kitsune is chaotic neutral, but the other alignments are not particularly uncommon. While kitsune can be of any alignment, most do not become lawful as they do not enjoy having their personal freedoms limited. Gnomes were once on quite friendly terms with the kitsune, sharing a mutual love for tricks, illusion magic, and creativity, but that all changed after the death of Garl Glittergold. Many humans glamorize and even revere kitsune, but they are often shunned by society as a whole. Forest Elves in particular despise kitsune, both for their longevity and incessant interruptions. Most arboreal races have distaste for kitsune because their constant pranks are often more annoying then entertaining.

This mask they are born with, and it grows with them it is an extension of their very soul. Regardless of the form, most kitsune carry a signature fox mask with them, either on their person or worn. Their fox form is often a simple fox, but with multiple tails (depending on how old they are). It resembles their humanoid form but with more obvious fox features, such as ears and tails (which they often are quite proud of).

Despite this, most kitsune are seen in their hybrid form, which they are usually more comfortable in. Most kitsune choose to have beautiful humanoid forms, often elven in appearance, but not always. Their chosen humanoid form is indistinguishable from others of the same type, which allows them to easily blend in and/or lure unsuspecting victims in for pranks. Kitsune have 3 forms, a fox form, hybrid form, and humanoid form. They are known to use their mystical abilities to deceive and otherwise befuddle their unwary targets, often luring them into the woods and leading them around for hours until they get lost. Regardless of their intentions, tricking and setting elaborate pranks are some of kitsune's favorite activities. That being said there are exceptions, and malevolent kitsune are not unheard of. Most kitsune trend towards chaotic neutrality they like to mess with other creatures but they don't mean to cause any actual harm or suffering.
